Seasoned Sugas was created by Shawnita Pair in November 2022 in order to serve retirement and assisted living communities by keeping the residents active and moving through low intensity exercise. It is a cardio dance and chair stretch wellness program for seniors, those recovering from injuries, and individuals who seek a slower pace and/or require a chair, walker, or other supportive tools to assist with movement. Seasoned Sugas is designed for all physical abilities to improve cardio functioning, flexibility, and mindfulness awareness. Each Seasoned Sugas class is designed for participants to vibe, move, and groove to the sounds of old school R&B, Motown, Blues, Soul, and Jazz to enhance memories of good times, laughter and love with family and friends.
The vision for Seasoned Sugas Wellness is for the program to be distributed to retirement, assisted living, senior centers and community organizations around the world. Residents and participants will benefit greatly by improving their overall fitness and wellness through easy cardio dance and chair stretch classes. This endeavor requires studio space, videographers, photographers, content development, individual instructors to deliver classes, sponsored social media marketing, and traveling costs to train instructors and deliver demo classes in person. The Seasoned Sugas Wellness channel is live on YouTube and the goal is to publish classes on the platform, which requires the legal purchase of music licenses.
