On 02/23/2024, my life changed forever. As a teacher, I have dedicated my life to others, always sacrificing everything and anything of myself. I laid down the night before feeling like a cold was coming on. I awoke that day in the hospital, hooked up to a million tubes and the doctor informed me that I had almost died. My so-called cold had manifested into Pneumonia and Sepsis of the bloodstream. If I had not been rushed to the hospital, I would have died within the hour. Along with the initial shock, I was informed that I have a blood disorder that will require lifelong, intermittent treatment. My recovery took over a month and took every ounce of strength, along with a series of intense transfusions of blood and other medications.
Unfortunately, I have exhausted all my options for receiving payment from my employer and am left on my own devices. I am seeking a small amount of help, so that I can survive and return to the job I have dedicated my entire life to. For once, I need to consider myself. I will be forever grateful for any help that is given.
