My name is Rashida.

I had a biopsy done that came back inconclusive. My doctor told me that I could wait and do another MRI later or I could have surgery.  I am thinking why would I keep it in? You don’t know if it’s cancer or not, if it will grow or not, but it’s a tumor. So, I opted to have it removed.  The tumor was in my S4/S5/coccyx bones of my spine. I had my first surgery on August 28, 2023, to have the tumor removed. Since I’ve been out of the hospital, the first time, they had a home health aide, nurse, checked in on me then, after the wound not healing still, they had to take out the stitches, and then packed my wound every single day, which was a very painful thing and not fun at all. After all of that, the wound still never healed, right, and got some type of infection. They had to go back in for a 2nd Surgery, Friday October 20, 2023. They couldn’t close me up because they had to clean the wound out again. So, I stayed in the hospital and came back in for my 3rd surgery on October 23, 2023.  After seeing my doctor on Nov 7, I still didn’t heal, and I am going in for my fourth surgery. November 20 will be my next surgery. This time I need a wound specialist plastic surgeon, seen on Nov 9, that is going to do a procedure that will basically deform me, but they don’t even know to what extent because as they put it I may need several more surgery but they cant tell me that until they get in there and see what going on. They have to clean out the wound several times and then take muscle and skin from a different part of my body to put where the wound isn’t healing. I found all this about a little while ago along with the fact that the tumor was Cancer. The type of cancer is a rare cancer called Chordoma which only about 1 in 1 million people get a year. Now after I get healed from all the surgeries, I still have to deal with that, and I still haven’t even been given a game plan for that.

I just want to get back to work and not lose what I have worked so hard for. I am a seamstress dressmaker who inspires to create custom gowns and clothing to make a person, feel like they are the most special person in the world and just great about themselves. I have my own business which we all know is already difficult to manage and run your own business. Sometimes it’s not understandable about the struggles that you go through when you have something major like this happen to you in your life. I am not the one who would ask for help. I am the one that’s always helping everyone else. I am the one that would literally give you the shirt off my back. If I could, I would go above and beyond to help every and anyone else who comes in my path. I have not been able to work since August 28 and everything feels like it’s closing in on me. I am asking now for your help please.
