1920s & 1930s film transfer to digital to view.

From Steve Fisher

We have 9 reels of Davis family film from 1920s & 1930s. We'd like to save them for future generations as well as review them ourselves. We need funding to complete this task. See more info below....

Hey folks,
Thank you so much for this support. I've sent out an other round of emails to some that I had missed in the initial mailing. We've got $1900 of the $3000 needed so thanks for the generosity.

My plan is to get the film shipped to https://videoconversionexperts.com/ on 2/14, maybe earlier.

The first round I did was about a 3 week turnaround. When they are done they ship the film and a jump drive back to me and I do the upload to the YouTube channel for viewing.
At that time I will send a link to all on this support list.

If we don't make our final goal I'll just get done whatever we can afford and we'll move from there but we are well on the way so treasures await no doubt.

I'll send word when the film ships out, just trying to get a tad more support so we just have to do this transfer process once.

Love to all and again our sincere thanks for this support.

More Info

We have nine 16mm reels of Davis family films from 1920s & 1930s. I transferred a couple of them and shared them with a few cousins on new year's day. There is some great family footage. The excitement of seeing past generations brought to life, and recollections were infectious. There seems to be a groundswell that the films are worth preserving and getting into a format that can be broadly shared with any family member that is interested in seeing them.

I looked into the costs to transfer all of it and then upload the footage so we can share it with all. The cost to do that is about $3,000.

Based on the preliminary run, the 9 remaining reels of film are sure to hold more surprises for us all along with some other truths. There's no telling what's on there unless we do the film transfer. All this unearthed footage will be available via an UNLISTED YouTube channel hosted by me, Steve Fisher. These will also allow others in the future to see these images and, hopefully, we can get the documentation of who is in them. We don't want them to sit on someone's shelf until nobody knows what they are!!

If you are interested, you can help preserve and watch these family films by making a donation.
